Zane L. Young, 87, of Boise, who was born in Anutt, MO, to Frederick L. and Stella Young, on Sept. 9, 1918. He passed away peacefully on March 23, 2006, at the Veterans' home in Boise.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Sept. 22, 1943, and served in the Asiatic Pacific as a Motor Machinist's Mate second class until Dec. 15, 1945.
He was a mechanic for Miller Stephen and also worked as a carpenter, during his younger days.
He became a licensed minister of the Church of God of Prophecy in 1972 and pastored several churches.
Many lives were touched through his yodeling and his love of singing that wonderful, Southern Gospel Music.
Zane is survived by his wife Lela of Boise, ID; his three children, Zanette and Lester of California; and Marshall of Arizona; his three step-children, Donna, Dave, and Dan of Boise, ID; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and nurses for their personal attention and extra loving care given to Zane while at the Veteran's Home. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Lela, his entire family, and his many friends.
Funeral services are March 29, 2006 at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Idaho State Veterans' Cemetery.
