William Nathan BARLOW was aged 71 years 5 months and 13 days at the time of his death. He married Stella Agnes Kahl (1916-1980) in 1933 in Pennsylvania. They were separated in 1942 after having one son and five daughters and divorced in 1945. Bill volunteered for military duty at the Allentown, PA registry office on July 5, 1943, serving 2 years, 2 months and 7 days as an Armorer-Gunner, USAAF, aboard the "Liberator" (aka B24s) airplanes in the theaters of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and Ardennes. Before his Honorable Discharge in September 1945, he earned his Rifle MM; Pistol Expert; Air Crew Member Badge and was decorated with an EAME Theater Ribbon w/5 Bronze Stars and Air Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1946 he was married in England. He and his second wife and daughter moved to Indiana where he was employed as a tool and dye maker for Dana Corporation, Salisbury Axle Division, until his retirement for health reasons in 1976. He enjoyed target shooting; deer & rabbit hunting; fishing; and golf. Politically, he was a die-hard Democrat and a dedicated union man. Upon retirement, he moved to Florida. Following a second divorce, he married Marie M. Brown (1905-2003) in Florida in 1984. There were no children born of this third marriage. A memorial service was conducted by his son, a pastor with Wesleyan Methodist Church, in Ocala, Marion County, Florida.
