Mr. Staup was born March 21, 1932, in Loncaconing, Md., to Roland Clinton and Grace Elliott Staup.
He was a member of West Middlesex United Methodist Church.
He was a welder at Sharon Steel Corp., Farrell, for 36 years.
A Navy veteran, he was a member of West Middlesex Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6232. He also was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Kedron Lodge 389, West Middlesex.
Surviving are: his wife, the former Dorothy Thomas, whom he married in 1953; a daughter, Linda Adams and her husband Kenneth of West Middlesex; two sons, Robert Lynn, Frostburg, Md., and William C, Mercer; two sisters, Gretchen Bobo and Martha Ann Miller, both of Lonaconing, Md., a brother Rev. Thomas Staup, Brunswick, Md. ; and five grandchildren. A sister, Jean Goynes, preceded him in death.
Burial: in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, Pa.
