Harry M. Pehote

Harry M. Pehote, 85, of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 7, 2006, at the home of his son in DuBois. He was born in Rostraver Township on Oct. 30, 1920, a son of the late Joseph and Rose Wozniak Pehote. He grew up in Rostraver Township and was a graduate of Rostraver High School. He has been a resident of Monessen since 1945 and an active member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. Mr. Pehote was a former member St. Hyacinth Roman Catholic Church. He was a retired millwright from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr. Pehote was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Honolulu as a Gunners Mate First Class. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Harry G. and Shelia Pehote, of DuBois; three grandchildren, Harry J. Pehote and wife Christina, of Reinholds, Kristie McGinty and husband Andy, of Marietta, and Stacy Pehote, of DuBois; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Emma Pehote; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Stanisz Pehote, in April 2005; and five brothers, Charles, Nick, John, Michael and Pete Pehote. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. Services will be held Tuesday, April 11, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church. Interment will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Monessen.
