Albie was the son of John and Elizabeth Antoni.

He was married to Catherine 'Cassie' Michael. They were the parents of three daughters and one son.

He was a 1943 graduate of Girard College for Boys in Philadelphia. Albie excelled in several sports including baseball, basketball, and soccer. He received Girard College letters in all three sports and was captain if the soccer team and basketball team. His yearbook descibed him as follows~

"Albie has a unique laugh. We will always remember it. The 'Hum' should feel proud in producing such a fine athlete- our best. We wish him luck."

Albie was a World War II veteran and a Philadelphia policeman.
