GEORGE E. SHINGLETON JR .

George E. Shingleton Jr., 77, of Parkersburg died Jan. 28, 1995, at St. Joseph Hospital, Parkersburg, after a short illness.

He was a member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church and was retired from Bureau of Public Debt.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 15 and Nitro Moose Lodge 565.

Surviving: daughters, Clara Price of Doyles Town, Ohio, Carrie Olsson of Tucson, Ariz.; brothers, Leslie and Howard, both of Hurricane, James of Nitro, William of Andover, Ohio; sisters, Lucille Strother of St. Albans, Kathryn Chatham of Clarksburg, Virginia Moore of Ravenswood, Doris Boykin of Hurricane, Sue King of Boonesboro, Md. ; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ogdin Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial with military rites conducted by VFW Post 8129, will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
