A funeral Mass for Ford Allen Slea, 78, of Nashville, who passed away April 18, 1999, was celebrated April 21 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Nashville. Burial was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
He was born Feb. 21, 1921 in Nashville, the son of Ford Michael Slea and Mary Ella Slea. Mr. Slea was a former resident of Crossville.
Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn Josephine Eaton of Hernando Beach, FL, Linda Celestine Nelson of Madison, TN, and Vanessa Lynn Slea of Euclid, OH; sons, Ford Michael Slea of LaVergne, TN, and Jerome Allen Slea of Euclid, OH; sisters, Dora Mai Powell of Murfreesboro, TN, and Priscilla Jean James of Nashville; brother, Thomas "Tommy" Jones of Ashland City, TN; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Lorene DeBusk Slea; sister, Josephine "Josie" Stromatt; and brothers, Robert Lee Slea, and William Lee "Bill" Slea.
