JOSEPH S. BECK

Joseph S. BECK passed away suddenly Sunday morning, July 10. He was in the car with his sister, Mrs. Charles ECKSTINE and Mr. ECKSTINE, who were going to their ranch. They had just stopped at the Victory Service station, when Joe grabbed himself over the heart and said, "My God, goodbye. Take care of mother." Mr. ECKSTINE carried him across the street and laid him on the grass. All efforts to revive Joe were futile. He had died at once. As far as known he had not been afflicted with heart trouble before. He had been as jolly as usual that morning.

Funeral services were arranged for Thursday afternoon at the Holy Name Catholic church at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. J. J. Meyers giving the regular burial ceremony. Pallbearers were Perry CLARK, Lloyd WILLIAMS, Earl HOLDERNESS, Bert SLOAS, Albert RONICHE and Davey OWENS. Interment was in Steamboat Springs cemetery under direction of A. W. Heyer.

Joseph BECK was born in Vienna, Austria, November 19, 1899.
