Airborne 2230 Shot down by a night-fighter (Oblt Egmont Prinz zur Lippe Weissenfeld, 4./NJG1) and crashed 0059 in the IJsselmeer. Weissenfled was a Luftwaffe night fighter flying ace of royal descent during World War II. A flying ace or fighter ace is a military aviator credited with shooting down five or more enemy aircraft during aerial combat. Prinz zur Lippe-Weißenfeld was credited with 51 aerial victories, all of them claimed in nocturnal combat missions.
All bodies were recovered and taken for burial in various Dutch cemeteries.
Vivian was the pilot of the British Wellington bomber #W5375 that on a mission to Emden North West Germany was shot down by a German night-fighter into the Ijsellmeer Lake near Harderwijk, Central Netherlands killing all 6 crew members.
