Immigrated in 1855 aboard the ship SS Auguste from Bremen to New Orleans. The ship arrived November 22, 1855.

1860 Census - 23 yrs old, living in Nashville, Washington Co., Illinois. pg 844

1870 Census - Last name is mispelled "Mankhoff". William (31), Caroline (34), Minnie (7), Henry (3) and Lena (6 mths) are living in Minden (or New Minden), Washinton Co., Ill. They are living 4 houses down from Henry and Louise (Krietemier) Kreft, and one house up from Ernest Krietemier, age 65....this may be Louise's father.

Church Records - St John's Lutheran - Washington Co., Illinois - Widower William Moenkhoff and Widow Louise Kreft were Married June 5, 1878 via license. Wittness: Widoweer Hesemann & Henry Koelling.

1880 Census - 44 yrs old, living in Freistatt, Lawrence Co., MO, and is married to Louise (Krietemier - Kreft)

1900 Census - 61 yrs old, Living in Freistatt, Lawrence Co., MO E.D. 89, Sh 8
