A law student, he enlisted in the CEF on 24 Sept 1914 in Valcartier, Quebec, Canada.

One of the first Canadian Officers killed in the Great War, he served with the 7th Canadian Infantry Battalion, The British Columbia Regiment.

Son of Beaumont and Louise Mary Boggs of the 'Pacific Club', Victoria, British Columbia.

Lieutenant Herbert Beaumont Boggs is commemorated on Page 6 of Canada's First World War Book of Remembrance.
