Berry Bennett, a retired farmer, died Tuesday at his home in Decherd following an extended illness. He was 83.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Moore-Cortner Chapel with he Rev. John Stammer Smith and the Rev. Ky Curry officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bennett was a native Franklin Countian, born April 2, 1890. His parents were Winfield Scott and Helen Featherston Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Lowry Bennett of Decherd; two sons, Guiles Bennett of Decherd and Winfield Bennett of Winchester; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Gipson of McMinnville and Mrs. Mildred Summerall of Jackson; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
