Sylvia L. Atkins-Castelli, 87, Leesburg, Florida, passed away on October 17, 2014 at her residence under the loving care of her family and staff of Cornerstone Hospice.
Mrs. Atkins-Castelli was born on September 14, 1927 in Holopaw, Florida to her parents Sherwood and Edna Pridgon.
She was a former Teacher for Life Streams of Florida and instructed her clients in cooking and food preparation. She has resided in Leesburg for over 63 years coming from Eustis. She was a member of the Leesburg Lions Club Auxiliary. Her favorite hobbies included working with her plants, working on craft projects especially sewing crafts and being an avid reader.
Mrs. Atkins-Castelli was preceded in death by her loving husband Earl Atkins and son Earl Atkins, Jr.
She is survived by her loving sons: William Atkins of San Francisco, CA and Joe Atkins of Buford, GA; two sisters: Jimmie Holt of Leesburg, FL and Shirley Pummell of Texas; four grandchildren: Sola, Clayton, Richard and Trina; five great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, Fl. with a Funeral Service to follow on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11:00AM at Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, Florida. Burial to follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, FL. Services have been entrusted to Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, FL.
