Born May 11,1885 in Louis County, near Columbus City, he was the son of William and Euphernia Baird Orr. He received his education in the area of his birth.
As A young man he spent several years in Albia where he was employed by the Burlington Railroad.
On Dec.26,1908 he was married in Des Moines to Myrtle A. Mark and they spent many years in the Des Moines and Indianola areas where he was employed by the Ford Plant and farming and come to Marshalltown eight years ago to make there home.
Mr. Orr was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are the Widow, two daughters and a son Charles Orr of Bethany, Oklahoma, Mrs. Lloyd (Evelyn)Bowers of Altoona, Mrs. Harry (Betty) Thomas of Marshalltown. Also surviving are seven grandchildren,
nine great grandchildren and a sister Mrs. George Montgomery of Sterling, Kan.
Preceding him in death were two sisters.
Services will be held fr0m the chapel of Estel- Perrin Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Robert Mac Canon, pastor of the Grace Union Methodist Church, in charge. Burial will be in the Gullion Cemetery at Attica,Iowa at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
