Wesley David Medlock, 66, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born February 15, 1948, in Friedheim, Mo., to Ancel and Goldie Dickman Medlock. His father died January 21, 1948, about three weeks from Wesley’s birth. Wesley and Mary Carlton-Mattmiller were married March 15, 1997.
Wesley was a graduate of Jackson High School. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines Corp, serving honorably during the Vietnam War from February 28, 1967 to October 31, 1972. He then worked 33 years at Proctor & Gamble, retiring in 2004.
Loving survivors include his wife of 17 years, Mary of Jackson; two sons, Derrick Medlock and fiance Victoria Brown and Tyson (Tina) Medlock all of Jackson; two step-daughters, Maile Mattmiller of Atlanta, Ga., Shawna (J.J.) Wiseman of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Tristan and Claudia Medlock, Joshua Brown, Ashley and Alexis Medlock, Justin Mouser, Rhett and Riley Wiseman, all of Jackson; two sisters, Debbie Green and Pam (John) Bourland all of Jackson; and a nephew, Matthew Fowler of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Matthew Green.
Friends may call Tuesday, October 21, 2014, from 4 to 8 PM, at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at 10 AM, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Allen officiating. A committal service will be held at noon, Wednesday, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
