Early Life: Jack was born March 20, 1919, in Fulton, Illinois, to John and Bearl Audrey Barnett Middleton.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Jack was an avid rockhound and made beautiful jewelry from the cabochon and faceted stones he created. He owned a photography studio from around 1938 to 1945. He loved to ride his four-wheeler to go cut down trees to drag home and split into his firewood. For many years, he was a oil well driller from Louisiana to California. Carolyn and Jack came to Montana and bought an off-the-grid little cabin so they could enjoy the peacefulness of mountain living. They also did a lot of winter living in Arizona or New Mexico. His wife, Carolyn Lee Mason Middleton, passed away in July of 2011. John Edson "Jack" Middleton passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at the Philipsburg Nursing Home in Philipsburg, Montana.
Survived By: His faithful dog friend, Hope; four nephews: Bruce Moore, Fred Whitehurst and Mike and Mac Whitehurst; niece, Vickie Hicks; four sisters: Margaret, Francis, Kay and Flora; and three stepchildren: Dennis Mason, Cheri Caldera and Chris Mason.
Preceded In Death By: His wife, Carolyn; his parents and his sister, Trudy.
