Jeanette Worley Gordon died Sunday, July 27, 2008, after a long illness in Central State Hospital in Riverdale, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Deward Earl Gordon, May 21, 1989, Her parents Opal Williams and Harley Worley,of Georgia, Granddaughter, Candice Gordon, Aug. 22, 1979, Acworth, Ga.
Jeanette was survived by her son Ken & Debra Gordon, of Ga, Son Joey & Cindy Gordon of Summerville, Ga. Daughter Abigail Gordon & Thomas Akin, of Kennesaw, Ga.
Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sisters Doris Worley Austin, of Georgia, Marjorie Worley Crews, of Georgia, Sheila Worley Bukky, of California, Brother, Don and wife Gena Burleson Worley, of Cartersville, Ga. Many Nieces and Nephews.
Even though Jeanette was born and died in Georgia, she grew up in Mountainboro, Alabama, on Sand Mountain, Route 3 Boaz, and went to Sardis Elementary and High School.
Jeanette Worley Gordon was a Cheerleader at Sardis High School, Sardis Alabama, for three consecutive years.
Jeanette married Deward Earl Gordon MSGT US Air Force, when she was 16., Sept. 1950 Clinton, Tennessee. They had two sons, Kenny and Joey Gordon.
Jeanette taught Ball Room Dancing with Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray Dance Studios, for many years in the 50's & 60's.
Jeanette never remarried after her divorce from Deward Earl Gordon. She died age 75
