Peggy (Margaret) Anne Shea Page was born on August 31, 1947, in San Francisco, California, and passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014. She was 67. She was preceded in death by her father, Urban Shea and her mother, Ellen Shea.

Peggy was the oldest of three daughters. She attended St. Joachim's Elementary School and Madera High School where she graduated in 1965. She attended both UC Davis and Fresno State University, where she earned her teaching credentials and achieved her Master's Degree in Elementary Education.

For 37 years, Peggy dedicated herself to her students in challenging areas of Fresno Unified School District. During her career, she taught at Jane Addams Elementary and later at Tehipite Middle School. Her students loved her flamboyant and often unorthodox methods of teaching and heard her message that all of them were capable and worthy of doing big things with their lives. That message got through to many who came back over the years to thank her for motivating them.

Peggy was a loving and devoted daughter, sister and aunt. She is survived by her sisters, Jeanie Shea Perkins and Kathy Shea Foster, her nephew Scott Foster and his wife Alexis, and her grandnephew, Maximus.

A Vigil Service will be on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at Jay Chapel in Madera. Private Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Madera.

The family requests any memorial donations be made to animal rescue and sanctuary, The Cat House on the Kings, 7120 South Kings River Avenue, Parlier, CA 93648.
