William Lally Dies At Hospital Result Of Fall on Stairs
Accident Occurred Last Night At Washington Fire House, Death Resulted Today
William Lally, 49, died this morning at 10:15 o’clock at the Ashland State Hospital as the result of head injuries suffered in a fall at the Washington Hose House. Mr. Lally fell down the steps at the fire company house last evening, about 10:00 o’clock, and he was immediately removed to the hospital where his injuries proved fatal.
He was born in Ashland, a son of the late James and Anna Lally and was employed as a miner in the coal operations about this section. He had been unemployed for the past three years.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Ashland, and of the Washington Hose Company.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian, and the following children: James, of Shenandoah Heights; William, of New York; Mrs. Thomas Colihan, of Girardville; Mrs. James Reilly, of Centralia; Margaret, of Girardville; Elizabeth, of Centralia; Rita, of Ashland, and Lorraine, and Jean, at home. The following sisters and brothers also survive, together with nine grandchildren: Mrs. George Shivelhood, Mrs. William McHale and Mrs. Anna Bohanna, and Anthony, all of Ashland.
Funeral arrangements were not yet completed today but Kull Bros., are the directors in charge.
