Early Life: LaVell was born July 29, 1934, to Arlynn and Melva Stewart Hone, in Benjamin.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: On February 26, 1955, LaVell married Arlene Pay in the Manti Utah LDS Temple. As a young adult, he worked for Spanish Fork Lumber Company. Then, for 30 years, he owned and operated his shop, Hone Cabinets, in Benjamin. He was well-known, far and wide, for his expert craftsmanship. LaVell loved to sing and sang with the Men of Melody group, as well as in a barbershop men's chorus. His other interests included fishing and camping, but he especially enjoyed being with his family and grandkids. He crafted beautiful wood pieces his whole life; some of his last projects were making miniature barns and jewelry boxes. LaVell is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he fulfilled many and various callings. He served missions, with his wife, Arlene, in Sacramento, California, and Phoenix, Arizona. Boyce LaVell Hone, long-time resident of Benjamin, Utah, passed away late on October 3, 2014, at his home in Santaquin, Utah. He was 80 years old.
Survived By: His dear wife, Arlene; their children: Karen (Charley) Reese, Allen LaVell (Mary) Hone, Barbara (Paul) Spainhower, Teresa Hone, Kristine Jensen and Carla (Brent) Garner. He leaves a legacy of 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Keith (Elaine) Hone; and one sister, Arleen (Keith) Horton.
