Charles B. "Charlie" Churchill VII, 70, of 28 W. Maple St., Canton, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Graham Hospital Extended Care in Canton.


Born Jan. 12, 1935, in Canton to C. Beldon Churchill VI and Melba Boyd Churchill, he married Judy Carmack in Literberry, Ill., on April 11, 1994. She survives.


Also surviving are his mother of Long Beach, Calif.; five sons, Chuck Chase of Charlotte, N.C., Mark Chase of Peoria, Kevin Chase of Washington, Ill., William Churchill and Glen Churchill, both of Pekin; four daughters, Laurie Epkins of Green Valley, Lyn Ghelardini of Pekin, Stephanie Churchill of Canton, and Jennifer Hebisen of Denver, Colo.; three stepchildren, Cynthia Randall of West Hills, Calif., Tebra Corcoran of Rossmoor, Calif., and Jeff Severe of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; one brother, Edward B. Churchill of Long Beach, Calif.; and one sister, Judy Churchill Hunt of Tucson, Ariz.


He was a 1953 graduate of Canton High School and was the chairman of his 50th High School Class reunion. He graduated from Western Illinois University with a BS degree in biochemistry.


He was formerly the club manager for Pekin Country Club, Timber Lake Country Club and WeeMaTuk Country Club.


He retired as a food service supervisor at Illinois River Correctional Center.


He was an avid sports fan, loving golf, football and baseball. He was always faithful to the Chicago Bears and Cubs.


Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview.
