Virginia E. Emberson, age 84, of rural Argyle, Wis., passed away on Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, Wis., surrounded by her family. She was born on April 6, 1930, in Blanchardville, Wis., the daughter of Kermit and Esther (Severson) Thompson. Virginia graduated from Darlington High School in 1948. She grew up in the Blanchardville and Darlington areas until her marriage to Merlin Emberson on June 7, 1952, at Blanchardville Lutheran Church, when they began farming on the Emberson family farm. Virginia is survived by three children; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother; and one sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; her husband on Feb. 14, 2008; and one brother-in-law, Curtis Emberson in 2005. Virginia was a member of Adams Lutheran Church and its Women of ELCA. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Virginia's hobbies included cooking, gardening, quilting, and word searches. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered for her sense of humor and her Norwegian goodies. Erickson Funeral Home.
