Clara O'Neal Thomas
EDENTON - Clara O'Neal Thomas, 81, died Dec. 29, 2006, at Pitt Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral was Dec. 31 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, Wendell. Burial was at Baptist Tabernacle Church cemetery.
She was born April 24, 1925, in Johnston County, daughter of the late Lucy Hocutt and Wade Hampton O'Neal. She was the widow of Donald Ray Thomas and Herbert Alford.
Surviving: daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and John Keeling of Virginia Beach, Va., Rose and Johnny Beasley of Raleigh, Betty and Bill Owen of Wendell; sister, Erma High of Zebulon; brother, Wade Lee O'Neal of Raleigh; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
