Son of Joseph and Mary Heffernan Aulisio and father of 10. He graduated from the Old Forge High School in 1957. He also graduated from the University of Scranton, and earned two master's degrees from Wilkes University and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a proud teacher for the Lakeland School district, Jermyn PA, for more than 40 years, where he taught science and inspired many. He also taught in Eldred, N.Y., where he was also the football coach. He skied for many years as an instructor for the Special Olympics.
