He was the husband of Evelyn L. (Kauffman) Gebhart.
Born in Alleghenyville, he was a son of the late Stephen R. and Edna W. (Zerbe) Gebhart.
Gebhart was employed for 30 years as a full fashion knitter by the former Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing. He was later employed for 10 years by the former North American Rockwell, now Rockwell International, Wyomissing. He was last employed by the Hope Hosiery Mill, Adamstown, retiring in 1983.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Gebhart was a life member of the Brecknock Fire Compay, Alleghenyville.
He is also survived by two daughters, Barbara L., wife of Cahit Aykin, Winter Springs, Fla., and Elaine R. Hart, Umatilla, Fla.
Other survivors include two brothers, Merritt C., Alleghenyville, and Floyd E., Mohnton, and five sisters: Thelma K., wife of Ray Groff; Verna M. Good; and Edna L., wife of Robert Gehman, all of Bowmansville, Lancaster County; and Elda G. Walbert, Englewood, Fla.; and Marlene E. Wenrich, Reading.
There are also four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Michael Tod Good Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Reamstown, Lancaster County. Burial will be in Muddy Creek Cemetery, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County.
