Corporal Vernon Lee Quinto was the first born child (son) of Salustiano (a Navy vet) and Mabel Snead Quinto of Portsmouth, Virginia and brother of Kirkland S. Quinto.

Cpl Quinto Honorably served the military during World War 2 (WWII) with the United States Army Air Corps (the predecessor of U.S. Air Force) from November 4, 1941 until his service related death at the age of 21 while serving with the 4th Aviation Squadron at Maxwell Air Field in Montgomery, Montgomery county, Alabama.

Cpl Quinto is also a recipient as a
Chesapeake Gold Star Hero award of WWII from VFW Post 2894, Chesapeake, VA.
