Josie passed away on Thurs, Sept. 11th, 2014, from a massive stroke. She was born to the late William & Emily Black in Tampa on Jan. 24th, 1960. She graduated from the University of Tampa with a degree in elementary education. "Josie" was a gifted artist whose work was admired by many. She had a special place in her heart for animals. She was passionate about rescuing and adopting out-of-luck cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Emily Black; her brothers, William Black III & James Black. She is survived by her brother, Bryan Black; sister-in-law, Violet Black; nieces, Bethany Brantner & Beatrice Black; and strong network of loving friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations by check be made to The Humane Foundation for Animals, PO Box 777, Dunant, FL 33530-0777. Funeral service will be held Wed, Sept. 17th at 10AM at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
