Robert Wayne Lucas, 71, of Fort Smith, Arkansas died Saturday, July 30, 2005, in a local hospital. He was born October 2, 1933, in Springfield, Illinois. He was a retired employee of GNB Battery, a Navy veteran and a solider of the Salvation Army in Fort Smith where he attended church and was volunteer Sunday school teacher, chaplain, counselor and disaster coordinator.

Memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Salvation Army Chapel, 301 N. Sixth Street in Fort Smith, with a private burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, three sons, one sister, and three grandchildren.
