John Irving Iverson, 94, of Bryan, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014, at Scott and White Hospital in College Station. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday, September 8, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 9, at Twin City Church of Christ, College Station. Interment will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, in Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, Louisiana.

John was born to Ole and Lena Iverson and grew up in a Norwegian community near Horton, Kansas. He attended Butler University in Indiana and graduated from Freed-Hardeman College in Tennessee. Over his 60 year career, John preached at many Churches of Christ throughout the south and Midwest. He came to College Station as the minister of the Twin City Church in 1981 and remained here after his retirement.

His wife of almost 69 years, Anne Hartsell Iverson, passed away in April, 2014.

Survivors include his children: Adrianne, Teresa, Gary, and Jeannette; and grandchildren: Bridget, Barron and Beau.
