MRS. JANE OBBINK

Mrs. Jane Obbink, 90, of Cedar Grove, died at 8:45 a.m. today at her home following a six weeks’ illness.

She was born April 5, 1871, in the Netherlands, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garret Harmelink, and she came to this county as a child of 10. She married A. J. Obbink in the Town of Holland on March 9, 1893.

The couple settled on a farm in the Town of Holland following their marriage, and retired from active farming 34 years ago.

He preceded her in death on May 26, 1943.

For the past five years, Mrs. Obbink made her home in Cedar Grove with her son, Clarence. She was a member of the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Cedar Grove and its Women’s Missionary Society.

Survivors include two sons, Harry of R. 1, Oostburg, and Clarence of Cedar Grove; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Monnie Post of Rock Valley, Iowa, and one brother, William Harmelink, of Gibbsville.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:45 p.m. at the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church for the family, followed by a regular service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Carl J. Reitsma, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Te-Ronde Funeral Home in Cedar Grove after 3 p.m. Sunday.
