Garry "Pops" L. Smith died at his home from complications of diabetes and heart disease.
Garry grew up in Joplin, Missouri. He was a professional baseball player for the Kansas City A's Organization in the early 1950's. He moved his family to Denver, Colorado in 1962. He spent the last 12 years of his life working with is daughter, Alice "Beth" Chapman and her husband, Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman as a bails bondsman.

Garry is survived by his mother, children, Randy, Melinda(Will)Lehmann, Tim(Kirsten), Laura(Dave Gallegos, Alice(Duane)Chapman I; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother Harold and sister Norma.
"Pops" was best known for his reoccurring role on the reality show "Dog the Bounty Hunter".
He was preceded in death by his father.
He will be sadly missed by all.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 6 at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 Wadsworth. Friends and Family only, please.
