Jeanette L. Borchardt, age 73, Greenleaf, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2010.

Jeanette was born Aug. 30, 1936, in the town of Cooperstown, the first-born child of Ewald and Lillian Maertz Pantzlaff. In her youth, Jeanette worked for area families as a nanny and homemaker's helper followed by a short career as a food service worker at Manitowoc County Hospital. On Aug. 17, 1958, Jeanette married her true love, Norbert Borchardt. They were together for 51 wonderful years. Together they worked hard on their family dairy farm and made a good life together raising two children. She was a member of Zion Wayside for 51 years and had been active with the Ladies Aid Society until health problems limited her ability.

Survivors include her husband: Norbert; her son: Evan, and daughter-in-law, Brenda, and their children: Aaron and Hannah; her daughter: Fay; sisters: Lois Hansen, Grace (Neil) Mills; brothers: Eugene (Mary Ellen) Pantzlaff, Harold (Charlie) Pantzlaff, Raymond Pantzlaff, Earl Pantzlaff, David Pantzlaff, Danny (Julie) Pantzlaff; sisters-in-law: Lorina Fels, Luella Miller, Bernadine Lemke, Alberta Borchardt, Esther Lemke, Dorothy (Ron) Zenke; brothers-in-law: Gilbert (Verna) Borchardt, Wilbert (Caroline) Borchardt, Marvin (Elaine) Borchardt, Meinie (Carol) Borchardt; special family friend: Bonnie Crossman, who was like a daughter, her husband Tom, son Tim and daughter Chloe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn infant son; her parents: Ewald and Lillian Pantzlaff; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Rudolph and Hilda Borchardt; sister-in-law, Doris Borchardt; brothers-in-law: Alvin Hansen, Melvin Borchardt, Edward Borchardt, Melvin Hahn, Sylvester Fels, Donald Miller, Lester Lemke and Ted Lemke.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church, 8378 County Road W, Wayside, until the time of service. Funeral service 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Steven Kline officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.

Thank you to Dr. James and Dr. Lynch and the staff of Bellin Hospital second floor advanced care and fourth floor nursing staff for the excellent care provided to Jeanette. A special thank you to Gloria, Pat and Debbie for their frequent visits, care and support during Jeanette's hospitalization. We would also like to thank Unity Hospice for their care and compassion, especially to Bill for being with Jeanette when God came to take her by the hand.
