Ely Ralph Williamson went home to be with his Lord on Friday, August 29, 2014. He was born on September 17, 1919, the son of the late Isaac and Addie Williamson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Daphne Tew and a brother Hubert Williamson. He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother, Melvin Williamson, a sister Leatrice Pulley and numerous family and friends. Funeral services will be at held 3:30 pm on Sunday at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Tarboro with the Rev. Stanley Buck officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 74 years, Hester McKeel Williamson. He was a wonderful father to their four children; Jean Trevathan and husband Billy, Doris Wall and husband Jerry, Kenneth Williamson and wife Teri, Donald Williamson and wife Fran. Grandpa was loved by his 9 grandchildren; Wayne Trevathan, Debra Beach and husband Scott, Karen Davis and husband, Alan. Kim Davis and husband David, Joanna Isley and husband Bill, Ted Williamson, Heather Olson and husband Jared, Jason Williamson and wife Christen, Alex Williamson and wife Annika. He was known as Pa or Grandaddy to his 11 great-grandchildren. Jeana and Jessica Beach, Alana and Jake Davis, Grayson and Cole Davis, Lee Isley, Jacquelyn Kerby, Kaitlyn and Eiljah Williamson, Ethen and Caleb Olson.
This small mention does little to express the loving and living that took place during his time on earth, but please know that the family mentioned here will miss this sweet man dearly. The family will receive friends and relatives at the First Free Will Baptist Church on Sunday from 2:30-3:30 pm and other times at 1942 Hwy 111 N, Tarboro, NC.
