VAN HORN Evelyn Juanita "Nita" (Crews) Van Horn, age 82, passed away on September 13, 2009, at her home in Jacksonville with her loving family beside her. Nita was born in Tampa, Florida on July 10, 1927, to her parents Ernest Edgar Crews and Nancy Lorene (McLeod) Crews. She grew up in Lakeland, Florida, where she met her husband, Albert J. Van Horn. They were married on October 29, 1945. They moved to Orange Park, Florida, in the late 1940's when he was transferred to the area for his job as a railway mail clerk. Shortly thereafter, they bought a home in the Southside area where they would settle. Nita was a homemaker for the 58 years that they were married. She was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. She had much talent in cooking and sewing. Memories of her great meals and loving creations will last through the years. She was predeceased by her husband, A. J. Van Horn in 2003. She was also predeceased by her brothers Harvey Crews and Cecil Crews.
