Second Lieutenant Adams was the pilot of
B-24J Liberator #42-99946, serving with the
215th Combat Crew Training Squadron from
Pueblo Army Airfield, Colorado.

He was one of eighteen airmen killed during
formation flight training when his B-24 collided
with another Liberator, north of Trinidad,
Colorado, and crashed near the community of
Model. Only one crew member survived by
parachuting to ground with minor injury.
