Brian was born to Jackie and Kathryn Mayfield Vanlandingham on August 9, 1963.

He attended Villa Rica and Mt. Zion High Schools. He was a truck driver, and worked on the pipe line around Atlanta. He loved everything about nature and the outdoors. He was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.

He passed away at his home, on August 30, 2013 following an extended illness, with his loved ones by his side. He was 50 years old.

A memorial service was held for Brian at Lakeshore Park, Carrollton in October, 2013. Many friends and relatives attended, all wearing camo clothing, in rememberance of
him. Many shared memories and spoke with love about him. Brian donated his body to science.

He is survived by his mother Kathryn Mayfield Gentry, and sister Jane Vanlandingham Henry, and several uncles, and cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Jackie Vanlandingham.

He is missed everyday by those who loved him the most, but continues to live in our hearts and memories.

"Missing You"

You never said you were leaving
you never said goodbye
you were gone before we knew it
and only God knows why

A million times I needed you
A million times I cried
if I alone could have saved you
you never would have died

In life I dearly loved you
in death I love you still
in my heart I have a place
that only you can fill

It broke my heart to lose you
but you didn't go alone
As part of me went with you
the day God took you home

this poem dedicated to Kathryn and her
family in the loss of her son, Brian.

May God comfort your family as the days turn into months and into years of grief. May your pain grow less as time grows nearer for you to see him again.
