Warren was born on April 17, 1917, in Campbellsport, the son of the late William and Alyda (Nonhof) Neerhof. He graduated from Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove in 1935 and the Mission House College in 1941.
Warren served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941-45. While in service he was taken prisoner of war and later was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. On Nov. 9, 1945, he married the former Marguerite Huibregtse in Cedar Grove. Warren worked in production control at State Foundry in Cedar Grove from 1945 until his retirement in 1973.=
Warren was a member, deacon and elder of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove, the American Legion Post 338, and the Lakeland College Hall of Fame, where he was honored for his achievement in basketball, baseball, and track. Warren was an avid sports spectator.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; two daughters, Sue (Mark) Hilbelink of Cedar Grove, and Kay (Mike) DeBlaey of Greenwood, S.C.; one son, Kent (Taunya) Neerhof of Tucson, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove, with Rev. Richard Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. The staff of Wenig Funeral Home of Oostburg is serving the family.
