Graduated from Libby High School 1941, worked on the railroad with his father & brother Michael.
Joined the Marines August 2, 1942, first Purple Heart, July 25, 1944, serving at Guam. Participated in action against the enemy at Eniwetok, M.I. February 17-24, 1944; Guam, M.I. July 21-29, 1944 and August 6-15, 1944; April 1 to April 16, 1945, Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands
On April 1, which was both Easter Sunday and April Fools' Day, his Division landed on Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands
Awarded Purple Heart with Gold Star.
