Mrs. Dema Mae Richardson Johnson, age 90, of Ridgeview Apts., Sparta; died Wednesday evening, August 14, 2002, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta.
She was the widow of Connie Johnson. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Annaree Johnson, and five grandchildren.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Herbert and Joann Johnson of Sparta; eight daughters and six sons-in-law, Joyce and John Williams of Sparta, Doris Haas of St. Road, NC, Carol and Dale Higgins of Galax, Va, Reba and Lucky Wilmoth, and Geraldine and Everett Luffman of Elkin, Shelby Wilmoth of State Road, Dorothy and Roger Dowell of Lincolnton, Ga., and Alfojean and Ivan Lyons of Glade Valley, NC; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 14 step-great- grandchildren nine step-great-great-grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, Mary Jones; and special friends, Mildred Ashley and Rosalee Sturgill.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel, burial will follow in the Saddle Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Hospice of Alleghany, P.O.
