ABELL - Joseph C. Jr., age 84, of Beavercreek passed away Monday September 19, 2011. Joseph was a Kentucky Colonel and a production control supervisor at General Motors, Inland Division. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Anthony Abell; and two brothers, James E. & Robert Marshall Abell. He is survived by his loving wife, Lea; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle & Nicholas Novogradac of VA; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey & Alice Abell of Michigan; a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Abell of Dayton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Alene Wolford of KY, Elizabeth Jane & Fred Strohmeier of Kentucky; a brother and sister-in-law, Alan Thomas & Ann Abell of New Carlisle; five grandchildren, Nicholas & Matthew Novogradac, Christopher, James & Elizabeth Abell; six great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 10 AM Saturday September 24 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Beavercreek, preceded by a prayer service 9:15 AM at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton, OH. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
