Wilburn Royce “Ross” Goodman, 76, passed away on
Thursday, August 7, 2014. He was born July 13, 1938 in Munfordville,
Kentucky to the late Imon & Delzie Goodman. Ross had lived in Jacksonville
for the past 54 years, was of the Church of Christ faith; loved cars and
working on automobiles. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force,
worked for Eastern Air Lines for 30 years and was a Masonic Mason. Ross
was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Jean; brother, Ralph Goodman;
sister, Brenda Goodman and grandson, “Little” Joe. Survivors include his
sons, Terry Thompson (Susan) of Flora Home, Dean Thompson of Callahan, Joe
Goodman (Marsha) of Jacksonville; brother, Howard Goodman (Margaret);
grandchildren, Shanda Goodman (fiancé Ronald Lamb), Jesse Goodman (fiancé
Jessica Mahon) and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services
will be held on Thursday August 14, 2014 at 11:30 AM in the chapel of
Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, with Rev. Bill Reister
officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The
family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home beginning at
