Funeral services for Gary Earl Harless, 59, of Roswell will be at 2:30 pm, Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Gene Lewis of Dallas, Tx and Pastor Paul Hollandsworth of Artesia officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Gary passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at his home.

Gary was born September 2, 1949 to H.E. “Bill” and Joyce Harless in Roswell.

He owned and operated Harless Roofing Company with his father and brother in Roswell for many years. He moved to Dallas and continued in the roofing business for fourteen years. Upon retiring, Gary moved back to New Mexico to pursue his love of training and running race horses. He also became a very accomplished leather and tack person making boots and saddles.

Gary is survived by his wife, Fonda of the family home, one daughter; Charmin Trammell and her husband Doug of Burleson, TX, one son; Gary Joe Harless and his wife Jamie of Dexter, seven grandchildren; Joey Luiz, Courtney Moss, Jagger and Rowdy Trammell all of Burleson, Tx, Michael, Blake and Brook Harless of Dexter, his mother; Joyce Harless of Roswell, one brother; Steve Harless of Dallas, two sisters; Lana King and her husband Jim of Dallas and Sue Whitaker of Roswell.

Gary was preceded in death by his father J.E. “Bill” Harless, one brother in law, Tommy Whitaker, his mother in law Bea Argenbright and his father-in-law Floyd Argenbright.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation for the many phone calls, cards, flowers, food and visits during Gary’s long battle with cancer.

The family would also like to give a special thanks to Bill Robb and his family for all their help taking care of the horses during this time.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Montgomery, Bill Robb, Robert Samson, Mike Meaders, Timothy Cole and T. J. Whitaker.
