Ernest Hiebert was born April 2, 1902 in Bingham Lake to Frank W and Elizabeth Hiebert. He attended rural school near Bingham Lake. He married Sara Fast on Dec. 18, 1924. They farmed in the Bingham Lake area for several years. His first wife died in 1937 and he married Linda Miller in Freeman, SD on May 25, 1938. They farmed north of Mountain Lake, and Mr Hiebert also worked as an independent insurance salesman and was active in the Republican Party. His second wife died in 1966. He entered the Eventide Nursing home in 1976 and had been a resident at the Good Samaritan Home since May 1985.
Mr Hiebert is survived by two sons, Eldon of Eden Prairie and Ernest R of Jerome, Idaho, a daughter, Dorothy (Mrs James)Norland of North Mankato; a sister Katherine (Mrs Fred) Yarger of Mountain Lake; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
