Entered service, Sept. 18, 1917, at Mayo, Florida. Assigned to Company B, 324th Infantry, transferred to Company F, 124th Infantry. Once more transferred to Machine Gun Company, 350th Infantry, then to Company B, 105th Machine Gun Battalion, 27th Division. He saw service in France, returning to the States, on March 6, 1919. He marched in the " Welcome Home Parade for the 27th Division ", up 5th Avenue, in New York City, March 25, 1919. Discharged from service, April 5, 1919.
