He was a native of Dixie County and lived in Cantonment for 21 years and in Newfoundland, Canada for three years. He was a member of the DAV and American Legion. He served in the U.S. Navy for 14 years before being medically discharged. He enjoyed squirrel hunting and fishing and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Futch Allen of Cantonment, FL; mother, Josie Allen of Cross City, FL; sons, Eric Leon Allen and William Clay Allen, both of Cantonment, FL; daughter, Mistry Towry (Ken) of Grove, OK; brothers, Leon Ashley Allen of Perry, GA and Joe Hubert Allen of Cross City, FL; sister, Phyllis Ladonna White of Cleveland, TN; grandson, Christopher Landon Towry; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leon P. Allen.
