Katy Lee Finney, 78, of 1387 Memorial Park Dr. Sparta, NC died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at her residence. She was born July 4, 1936 in Alleghany County to the late George Thomas and Clyde Fields Brown Finney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, James Stanley Osborne and Thomas Leo Osborne; a sister, Virginia Finney. She is survived by a daughter, Pam Osborne of Sparta; a granddaughter, Kristen Diego and Fiancé Ryan Wear of Santé Fe, New Mexico; four brothers: Bill M. Finney of Sparta, James Finney and wife Sue of Sparta, Michael Finney and wife Beverly of Hickory, Danny Finney and wife Ella Mae of Sparta; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the services to honor the life of Katy on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Ms. Finney will lie in state at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.
