Stanley George Howell went home to be with Jesus on 7/20/14. He was born 9/8/27 in Jacksonville, FL; graduated Fletcher High School in 1945; joined Merchant Marines, Naval Reserve, and then the Army and went to OCS and was discharged as a Major; he retired in 1993 from Allstate as an attorney negotiator.
Stanley loved boating, genealogy, traveling and his family.
He is survived by 3 daughters: Deborah Redman (Don), Gaylene Morris, Hilary Elise Guthrie; wife, Judy Howell; 4 grandchildren: Shauna Morris, Travis Guthrie, Benjamin and Jolene Morris; 4 stepchildren: Jim, John, Jeff Brosius and Julie Yeatman (Phil); 4 step-grandchildren, Michelle and Chelsea Brosius, Phillip Jr. and Erik Yeatman; 4 great-grandchildren: Jonathan and Jenna Clark, Zoey and Madyson Morris; brother, David Howell (Gaye); many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Predeceased by sister Marjorie Deans; and parents, Cecil Howell and Marjorie (Pollitt) Howell.
The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Palms Presbyterian Church, 3410 South Third St., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Private Interment will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
