BIOGRAPHICAL EXCERPTS

Mrs. Dombroski was a graduate of Onaway High School, class of 1931.

 After graduating from Western Michigan Teachers College in 1935, Jacqueline began her teaching career in Petoskey where she taught fifth and sixth grades at Central Elementary School from 1935-1941.

In 1946, she returned to our area and to Central Elementary where she both taught and served as assistant principal. She became a school administrator and served as principal of both Central Elementary and later Lincoln Elementary.

From 1954 through 1970 Jacqueline served as supervisor of Petoskey Elementary Schools.

She retired from school administration in 1970 but not from teaching and from 1970 until her eventual retirement in 1978 she taught fourth-graders at Ottawa Elementary.

Jacqueline enjoyed traveling with her family. She traveled all over North America and Mexico as well as Hawaii. She also toured Central Europe and in 1998 she traveled to England and Scotland.

Jacqueline passed away at her home on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at the age of 99. 

She was born in Onaway, Mich., the daughter of George W. and E. Grace (Bahel) Pregitzer.



She is survived by her son, his wife, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two brothers. 

Her husband, Frank, in March of 1995, preceded her in death.
