He was a resident of Fernandina Beach for 27 years. Pat was born and raised in Montgomery County, Ga. He graduated from Embry-Riddle Institute in Opa Locka, Fla., and later served in the U.S. Army as an aircraft crew chief, including a tour in Korea. After a career in aviation, Pat co-owned and operated a land development company with his twin brother, J.J.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Lynn O'Conner.
Survivors include his sons, James Pratt O'Conner and James Mitchell O'Conner, both of Fernandina Beach; a daughter, Tracy O'Conner Mooney of Cumming, Ga.; his mother, Myrtice O'Conner Hamilton of Tarrytown, Ga.; his brothers, James John "J.J." O'Conner of Fernandina Beach and Charles Patrick O'Conner of Tarrytown; four granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Monday at Oxley-Heard Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Tuesday at Springhill Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach with the Rev. Jackie Hayes, pastor, the Rev. Matthew Tausher, pastor and the Rev. Rick Lee, pastor, officiating.
Interment immediately followed at Bosque Bello Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2850 Isabella Boulevard, Suite 20, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
