John Leonard Camara, son of the late Francisco E. and Maria . (Andrade) Camara, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Saturday, Oct. 18. A longtime Taunton resident, he was 86. Born in Taunton, he attended Taunton High School, and later served in the U.S. Navy, during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. A purification plant engineer with the Taunton Water Department for several years, he retired many years ago due to disability. He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. He leaves a son, John Smith of Taunton; three sisters, Angelina Patenaude and Theresa Oliver, both of Taunton, and Mary Souza of Manchester, NH; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by The Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton.
